The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
Celebrating over 75 years of hospitality The King and Prince Club opened as a seaside dance club in 1935. Six years later, on July 2, 1941, the main hotel building opened to the public as the King and Prince Hotel and was immediately praised for its modern features and magnificent ocean views. During World War II, the hotel served as a naval coast-watching and training facility, reopening in 1947 to resume its popularity as a favorite island resort with its gracious Mediterranean architecture. The hotel enjoyed extensive renovation and expansions in 1972 and again in 1983, becoming a member of the prestigious Historic Hotels of America in 1996. In 2003, the Resort’s cherished core–the historic main building–underwent a stunning restoration and enhancement project, resulting in 57 new guest rooms and signaling a new era in the guest experience. In 2005, the Resort was named to the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout the many changes over our 76 years of service, one thing has remained the same: we provide our guests superior service, outstanding accommodations, and unrivaled Southern hospitality. The King and Prince Golf Course
The King and Prince Golf Course occupies some of coastal Georgia's most beautiful and historic acreage. The site was once home to the Hampton Plantation: an 18th century, antebellum plantation where cotton, indigo, and rice dominated. And now, golf is king. Opened in August of 1989, the course was designed by renowned architect Joe Lee, considered a master at coaxing brilliant design from the landscape. However, as Lee walked the land in early 1988, we grew concerned that the site might not support the layout he planned. Noticing a small cluster of marsh islands located across a small tidal creek just west of the Plantation's high ground, Lee's skills in creative land use envisioned a bold stroke of genius that would become The King and Prince Golf Course's signature. Today, golfers travel along 800-feet of elevated, marsh-traversing cart bridges to experience play on four spectacular holes gently carved from the marsh islands. While these four signature holes highlight play on the King and Prince Golf Course's back nine, the entire 18-hole, Par 72 course combines for an experience that always finds it on golf's "must-play" lists on the Florida to Myrtle Beach circuit. Joe Lee's tour de force design bends around towering oaks, along large areas of saltmarsh, and across lakes and lagoons. In 2009, the course underwent a dramatic fine-tuning that solidified its place among the south's finest courses. The King and Prince Golf Course is owned and operated by The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort.

The Lakes at Laura S. Walker
The Lakes, a championship 18-hole golf course, features a clubhouse, golf pro and junior/senior rates. Greens are undulating rather than tiered. Each fairway and landing area is defined with gentle, links-style mounds that accent the course’s three large lakes. The Lakes Golf Course was designed by Steve Burnes and features native sand for the many bunkers and waste areas. This coastal Georgia course has three large lakes and is very close to the Okefenokee Swamp. Popular for great course conditions and mild weather. The park’s namesake was a Georgia writer, teacher, civic leader and naturalist who loved trees and worked for their preservation.
